Joint Problems & Osteoarthritis

As osteopaths are skilled in treating the whole body, they can assess and treat biomechanical problems of all lower and upper limb joints.  Often problems or pains in these areas are associated with other postural or spinal problems. During postural and mechanical assessment, your osteopath will help, not only with the symptomatic area but also with any other musculoskeletal predisposing factors.

Osteoarthritis or "wear and tear" is a common finding in many load bearing joints or those that have suffered postural strain or injury. Osteopathy aims to relieve pain by improving mobility and reducing swelling and pain.  In addition, manual techniques help relax local muscles and decompress joint surfaces.  Again, advice is given on how to prevent further strain and degeneration.
